Your Standart To Share membership includes one copy per quarter, sent to your café, plus a listing on our café map. We ask one thing in return: keep the issue somewhere your customers can pick it up. That's the whole commitment—nothing to administer, no codes, no copies to sell. After you join we'll send a short form for your café's name, address and a photo, which is what puts you on the map.
Because a café pays what a reader pays. Your listing on the map comes with the membership—it isn't something we sell, so it isn't something we charge extra for. Money can't move a café up the map, and it can't buy an endorsement. That's the point of the map, and charging cafés more would quietly undo it.
Keep the current issue somewhere your customers can pick it up — a shelf, a table, the counter. That's it. You're not selling copies and there's nothing to hand out or keep track of. When you join, you'll confirm you'll make it available; that confirmation is what puts you on the map.
No. There are no copies to sell and no sell-through to worry about. One copy arrives each quarter, it lives in your room, and that's the arrangement.
Yes — extra copies are a separate add-on, so you can take as many as your room needs without changing your membership. A forty-seat café and a six-seat café aren't the same thing, and one copy doesn't always stretch.
No. A membership covers one location, and only that location appears on the map. That's deliberate: the map tells a reader they can find Standart at a specific address, so it has to be true of that address.
Become a Standart café
Standart is a print quarterly about coffee. A café membership brings the current issue to your counter four times a year, with the coffee that goes with it—one copy, to be read and thumbed through and left out for the next person.
Standart captures the intersection of coffee’s hospitality and science in a way that few others have ever achieved. Their dedication to highlighting pillars of the coffee industry, scientific innovations, and history through the lens of art has made them a must have on my bookshelf for years.
